Lawrence B. Barrett, Sr., 81 of Steubenville , Ohio passed away Thursday, March 01, 2012 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a Veteran of the US Army and was retired from Weirton Steel. Lawrence was a member of Finley United Methodist Church .

Lawrence was born March 2, 1930 in Pittsburgh , PA a son of the late Clarence and Coletta Welte Barrett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Robert C. Barrett; a brother, James Barrett; three sisters, Thelma Sullivan, Kathryn Lackman, and Dorothy Parker.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Belford Barrett; four sons, Lawrence B. Barrett of Pittsburgh , Lawrence B. Barrett, Jr. of Steubenville , Michael James Barrett of Amsterdam , and William Charles Barrett of Carrollton ; two daughters, Patricia Bannon of Pittsburgh and Virginia Lamp of Weirton , WV ; twenty grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Sunday from 4-6 PM. Visitation will also be held Monday from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 11 AM at the Finley United Methodist Church , Steubenville with Reverend Jerry Ernst officiating.

Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.
