Loris Eleanor (Grimm) Coe, 89, of Carrollton, died in her home Sunday, July 16, 2006.
She graduated from Bethany College in 1938 and was a special education school teacher for the Carrollton School System for 18 years retiring in 1986. Prior to that, she had been the Executive secretary for the Allegheny Council of Pittsburgh, Girl Scouts of America. Having come to the area in 1946, she had been active in the Carrollton Historical Society, the Carrollton Book Club, the retired teacher's associations had served as a Girl Scout leader.
Mrs. Coe was born August 24, 1916 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late Carl R. and Miriam (Fritz) Grimm. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Miriam "Pat" (Grimm) Ruha. She is survived by her husband, Merle A. Coe, Jr. whom she married August 31, 1939; by 4 children, Merle A. (Janice) Coe III, Washington, DC, Arthur (Lenor) Coe, Clinton, Wisconsin, Lorle (Ernest) Jost, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and Elizabeth (Robert) Ball, Tipp City, Ohio; by 7 grandchildren, Ernest A. (Lisa) Jost, Lorie E. (Michael) Knox, Trenton R. (Stormy) Ball, Alicia M. (Matt) Emrick, Danielle Miller-Coe, George K. Coe and Marion Coe and by 6 great-grandchildren, Christopher E. Grover, Jessica J. Grover, N. Ross Grover, Lauren K. Knox, Madison Jost and William E. Jost.
