LORRIE L. DYE, 90, of Bloomingdale, OH, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009 in the Gables Care Center, Hopedale.
She was born in Bloomingdale, OH August 28, 1919, a daughter of the late James Ross and Docia Floyd Mercer. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis J. Dye who died in 1998; 2 grandchildren, a brother, Lowell Mercer, 3 half brothers, Merrill, Everette and Forrest Mercer and 2 half sisters, Mildred Downer and Ethel Schwyer.
She retired in 1980 as a school teacher for the Edison School System. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, East Springfield, the East Springfield Senior Citizens and the East Springfield Homemakers Club, the Jefferson County Chapter of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma International, Alpha Mu Chapter.
She is survived by two sons, Ivan R. Dye of Bloomingdale and James (Doris) Dye of Peachtree City, Georgia, two daughters, Janice (Scott) Long of Wellsville, OH and Judy (Dale) Devore, Bloomingdale, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond 2-4 and 7-9 PM Saturday where funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday with the Reverend James Stafford officiating.
She will be interred in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.
