Luvern B. Hoerchler, 90, of Richmond, OH, passed away December 11, 2014 at Lancia Villa Vista, Steubenville.
He was born December 17, 1923 in Carroll, Iowa, a son of the late August and Mary (Niehaus) Hoerchler.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Shirley M. (Cade) Hoerchler who passed away July 4, 2012; brother, Cletus Hoerchler; mother and father in law, Alvin and Adelia (Mynster) Cade.
He served his country in the United States Army and Air Force Reserve.
Luvern was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church, Richmond. He worked at Holy Rosary, Steubenville and Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Luvern was a member of American Legion Post 740 and Knights of Columbus 472.
He is survived by his children, Byron Hoerchler of Ft. Worth, Texas, Bonnie (Charles) Pfeil of Johnstown, PA, Henry "Hank" (Mary Lou) Hoerchler of Steubenville, Cynthia and Lorena Hoerchler of Wintersville, and Kristina (Ronald) Fearn of Davidson, NC; 11 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4-8 PM on Monday at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Richmond.
A Vigil Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 4:00 PM.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday December 16, 2014 at St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Richmond with Father John McCoy celebrant.
Burial will follow at Richmond Union Cemetery with full Military Honors.
