LYNFORD L. "Wimpy" CATHERS, 83, of Annapolis, OH, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2009 in the Dixon Health Care Center, Wintersville.
He was born in Corry, PA, July 3, 1926, a son of the late Raymond and Inez Belle King Cathers. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Earl Raymond Cathers.
He was a US Army WWII veteran and then worked as a grinder operator for Timken Co. in Canton for 36 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Annapolis Presbyterian Church and the Unionport Masonic Lodge F & AM #333.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma (Myers Mader) Cathers, by 2 step-sons, James Mader and wife Donna of Annapolis and Richard L. Mader and wife Florence of Amsterdam, a step-daughter, Jill Mahy and husband Kenneth of West Liberty, WV, a sister, Harriet Cline and husband Morris of East Springfield, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond on Tuesday from 11 AM until time of funeral services at 1 PM with the Reverend Wilford Simeral officiating.
Entombment will follow in Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.
