Martha J. Travis, 90, of Wintersville passed away on March 22, 2013 at Valley Hospice Care Center North.

She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Porter.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William H. Travis, Jr., and son, Mickel Travis.

Martha is survived by her sons, William H. (Dee) Travis III of Clearwater, Florida, Daniel "Pete" Travis of Amsterdam, and James (Debbie) Travis of Wintersville; brother, Joseph (Helen) Porter of Steubenville; and sister, Karen (Alfred) Porter-Scott of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Martha served her country during WWII as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. She was an avid reader, a talented artist, and a skilled trap shooter.

She is a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Steubenville, where a memorial service will be held Monday at 11 AM, located on 6 ^th and Adam Street in Steubenville.
