Obituary

Mary Anna Huffman, 96, of Bloomingdale, Ohio passed away Friday, September 2, 2011, at Gables Care Center.

Anna was born July 3, 1915 in Wintersville, Ohio a daughter of the late James and Maude Roberts McConnell. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, J. Albert Huffman, whom she married on June 30, 1945; son-in-law, Robert Morrison; grandchild, Maudie Ann Morrison; brothers, William, Charles, and Ernest McConnell; and sister, Carrie Strobel.

Anna was a school teacher for thirty three years at Bantam Ridge and at Wintersville Elementary. Anna and her husband owned and operated Land of Hills Dairy Farm. She taught Sunday School during the forty five years that she was a member of the Wintersville Methodist Church and helped in the Lyle Jones Circle Missionary Group at Scott Memorial Church. Mary was a member of Wintersville Junior Women's Clubs, and was charter member of the Wintersville Civic Service Club and worked in it for over fifty years. Anna and Albert had a service club called the Samaritan Club which went to many church services and raised money for projects. She helped to lead the Wayne Ridge 4-H Club and participated in their fairs and club exhibits for over thirty years. Anna was a member of All Faith Choir and Bantam Ridge School Society. She loved flowers, gardening, and enjoyed quilting, she also belonged to the Busy Hands Quilting Club.

Anna is survived by son, Alan (Bonni) Huffman of Mars, PA; daughter, Beverly (Bruce) Riddle of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, John (Jennifer), Matthew, Sarah, Jessica, and Samuel Huffman, Robert (Autumn) Morrison II, J. Bart Morrison, and Heather (Phil) Harrant; and great grandchildren, Aaron Huffman, Emma and Kaityln Morrison, and Austin Kassatly.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held  11 AM Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at Scott Memorial United Methodist Church, 817 East Market Street, Cadiz, with Reverend Richard Hasley officiating.

Private Burial will take place at Ft. Steuben Estates.

In lieu of flowers Anna requested in her memory send a bouquet of flowers to someone who is living and can enjoy them or a contribution to the Scott Memorial United Methodist Church, 817 East Market Street, Cadiz, Ohio 43907.
