Obituary

Marylou McLister Lewis passed away Christmas Eve after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family.  She was born April 15, 1926 in Steubenville, Ohio and resided most of her youth in Mingo Junction.  She was preceded in  death by her husband, John T. "Jack" Lewis in 2000, whom she married November 26, 1947, her Mom and Dad, Ida and Billo McLister, one brother, Bill McLister, one grandson, Robert Ryan Damron, one great grandson, Samuel Robert Davis, and her Otterhounds, Bently and Elizabeth.

She is survived by two daughters, Dawn (Joe) Crowe of East Springfield, Gael (Bob) Damron of Wintersville, three granddaughters, Christalgael "Cigi" Damron, Jessica Damron and Brandi (CJ) Ralston, one neice, Holly (Jim) Schreyer of Wheeling, WV and her beloved canines, Otterhound, "Bus", Irish Wolfhound, "Nevan", and Havanese "Putzy".

She graduated from Big Red High School in 1944, and graduated from the former Ohio Valley Hopsital as a registered nurse and member of the US Cadet Nurse Corp during WWII.

She spent many years working at Allegeheny General Hospital, the Gill Memorial Hospital, Ohio Valley Hospital and she retired from St. Johns Hospital where she had opened the Cardiac Care Unit when it was created.

She was Catholic by faith and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, member of the CWC, and was made a lifetime member of the St Francis Society of Our Lady of Lourdes. She spent the greater part of her life with her husband and daughters showing and breeding her cherished champion Irish Wolfhounds and Otterhounds, amongst others.  She was a member of the Fort Steuben Kennel Association for almost 40 years serving as Treasurer for 20 years, and Show Chairman for several years.

She was also an intense Pittsburgh Steeler and Big Red fan as she loved football.

Friends will be received on Friday from 4-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville.

Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes with Monsignor Kurt Kemo officiating.

Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Valley Hospice.
