Mike Olexia, 87 of Mingo Junction, Ohio passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Weirton Medical Center.

He was born November 11, 1923 in Mingo Jct., Ohio, a son of the late Michael and Elizabeth Rahal Olexia, Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his companion, Karen Van Gosen whom passed on April 22, 2011, and three siblings.

Mike was a Veteran of WWII serving in the Air Force. He was past president of the Eagles Club in Mingo and current member of the Eagles Club in Wellsville. He was a longtime volunteer at the Urban Mission in Steubenville and was a retired teamster from Local #428. Mike also was a member of the VFW and attended Voice of Pentacost Church in Weirton.

Mike is survived by a son, Pete (Sandra) Olexia of Wintersville, OH; two daughters, Marsha (Bill) Sines of Tiltonsville, OH and Mikala Olexia of Richmond, OH; a sister, Margaret Olexia of Mingo JCT.,OH; five grandchildren, Rena Dayton, Darcie Olexia, Janell Cameron, Leann Smith, and James Nay; ten great-grandchildren.
