NORMAN R. PUTNAM, 70, of Richmond, Ohio, passed away at his home of natural causes, Monday, June 7, 2010.
He was born in Toronto, Ohio, January 18, 1940, a son of the late Roy L. and Cora (Goddard) Putnam. He is also preceded in death by a son, Norman Putnam, Jr. who died in 2001.
He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel in 2002, was a veteran of the US Army and member of the Christian Church of Unionport. Norman was an avid gardener and woodsman.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa "Terry" (Campbell) Putnam, a son, Steven Putnam of Richmond, two sisters, Martha Hockenberry of Mingo Jct. and Karen Bigler of Tennessee, and a brother, Phillip Putnam of Mingo Jct., two grandchildren, Norman Putnam III and Hannah Lynn Putnam and a great-grandson, Nicholas.
A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday at the Christian Church of Unionport with the Reverend Hubert Granger officiating.
Burial will be in the Richmond Union Cemetery.
