Obituary

PAUL SILAS ASH, 69, of New Rumley-Jewett area, formerly of Hopedale, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 11, 2006 in the Trinity East Hospice Center, Steubenville, OH. He was retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad and was a Pentecostal by faith. He was a stock car driver in the '60's, enjoyed auction sales, hunting, fishing and bluegrass music. He was a member of The Country Lads Band, which performed at area nursing homes, churches and senior centers and a member of the East Springfield Senior Citizens. He was born in East Canton, OH April 8th, 1936, a son of the late Charles and Lillian (Schimmel) Ash. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Lillian Ash and Virginia Magyar and one brother, Edward Ash. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Gladys (Welch) Ash, one son, Charles "Bill" William (Judy) Ash of Bowerston, OH, one daughter, Linda VanLehn of Bowerston, OH; one brother, John Ash of Cadiz, OH and one sister, Lois (Jim) Medley of Cadiz, OH; five grandchildren, Charles William Ash, Jr., Misty Moon Ash, Kristina L. Leddy (Nick) Novak, Mandy Sue Leddy, and Stacey Jo Jones, and 8 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond, OH. Funeral services for Paul will be 1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with Reverend Delbert Lash officiating. Burial will follow in the Harlem Springs Cemetery.
