Philip Scott Bunner, 62, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Born on September 11, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, Phil was the son of Elizabeth Jane Bunner and Calvin Harry Bunner.

A lifelong Cleveland sports fan, Phil proudly cheered for the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, and Cleveland Cavaliers through every season. He loved classic rock, had a gift for striking up conversations with anyone he met, and truly never knew a stranger. Those who knew Phil will remember his heart of gold, his colorful storytelling, and his ability to make people feel like old friends.

Phil is survived by his son, Scott Bunner; his brothers, Allen (Monica), Charles, Peter (Ellen), and Lee (Diane); his nephews, Jonathan (Sharon) and Curtis (Amanda); and his niece, Kristen Cruz (Gabriel). He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Jane Bunner and Calvin Harry Bunner, and his brother, Wayne Bunner.

Phil will be remembered for his kindness, his love of a good story, and the laughter he shared with those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Everhart-Bove Funeral Homes. A private remembrance will be held by the family at a later date.
