Phylis J. Yator 90 of Bergholz, Ohio passed away December 9, 2022 at Weirton Medical Center.

She was born January 6, 1932 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late Jess and Mary (Tittle) Morris. In addition to her parent's she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Yator, Sr.; son, Tom Palmer; daughter, Cathy Jones.

Phylis was a member of the Amsterdam Community Church of God. She graduated from Jefferson Community College. She was an ex POW member with her husband, editor of the Bergholz newsletter, enjoyed Primetime lunch and auctions. She was a foster parent for numerous children over the years and drove for VA hospital patients and other medical appointments.

Phylis is survived by her son, Lawrence "Roy" Yator Jr., Chuck (Debbie) Yator, and Zack Yator; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz on Thursday December 15, 2022 from 11 AM until time of services at 1 PM with Pastor David Guess officiating. Burial will follow at Bergholz cemetery.
