RALPH M. YOUNG, 81, of Richmond, OH, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville, following a brief illness. He retired in 1989 from Wheeling - Pittsburgh Steel as a stove tender in the blast furnace department. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy having served in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Honored Seven American Legion Post # 740, was a Presbyterian by faith and an avid gardener.
Ralph was born December 27, 1926 in Trimball, OH, a son of the late Frank and Sarah (Kempton) Young. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Graham) Young, one son, Rodney (Teresa) Young of Plantation, Florida, a daughter, Connie (Dale) Gray of Las Vegas, NV, grandchildren Jennie, Mary, Michael, Anthony and Amber and Emily. Also surviving is a sister, Jean Deavers of Richmond, and his brothers, Lloyd (Dolly) Young and Paul (Marilyn) Young, all of Wintersville, Charles (Jane) Young and Terry (Carole) Young, all of Richmond and Martin Young of Steubenville.
Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday with the Reverend Wendy Norris officiating.
