Reverend Jeffrey M. Proya Sr.

Reverend Jeffrey M. Proya, age 71, passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2026. He was born on September 13, 1954, in Beaver Falls, PA. Jeff devoted more than 35 years of his life to serving others as a Methodist minister. His faith, compassion, and steady presence touched countless lives and communities throughout his ministry.

Jeff found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, playing softball in the church league for Bell Chapel, and also enjoyed golfing with his brother, Andy Joe, at East Palestine Country Club. He especially cherished time with his beloved wife. Above all, family was the center of his world.

He is survived by his beautiful wife of 54 years, Kathy Jean Hartman, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. He is also survived by his children, Susan (Larry) Lissi, Jeffrey M. Proya Jr. and his wife Jamie, and Analisa Colella and her daughter Ali.

Jeff was a proud and devoted grandfather to three grandchildren who will forever cherish his memory, Jonathan Michael Lissi, Peri Kathryn Flory (Brayden), and Katie Patricia Lissi.

He adored watching them grow, and they lovingly attended the “school of pap,” where lessons were taught through patience, humor, and unconditional love.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Joseph Proya Sr. and Doris Proya.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. The family is grateful for the outpouring love and support.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.” And I have said enough…
