Obituary

RICHARD "RICH" PRISBYLLA, 85, of Amsterdam, OH, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2005 in Kindred Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA following a brief illness. He was retired from the Y and O Coal Company and had served as president of the United Mine Workers Assn. He was a veteran of WWII serving as staff sergeant in the 208th Quatermaster Laundry Detachment, Saipan in the Marianas Islands. He is a member of the Amsterdam VFW and the National Rifle Assn. He was born in Large, PA August 8, 1920, a son of the late Paul and Mary Elizabeth (Pearson) Prisbylla. He is also preceded in death by an infant brother and sister as well as brothers Edward and William. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jennie (Lenceski) Prisbylla whom he married July 15, 1942; 3 daughters, Patricia (Marvin) Beagle, Kilgore, OH, Paula (Truman) Goddard, Whitewood, SD and Mary Ann (Patrick) Freeman, Amsterdam; 2 brothers, Paul (Ruth) Prisbylla and Walter (Sophia) Prisbylla, both of Amsterdam; one sister, Eleanor Otto, Amsterdam, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM Monday.
