Obituary

ROBERT C. McAFEE, 63, of Richmond, OH, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 29, 2008 in Valley Hospice Pallative Care Unit, Steubenville, OH. He was born May 5, 1945 in Richmond, OH, a son of the late George W. and Thelma (Call) McAfee. Bob was a devoted husband to his wife, Diane (Rhonda Diana Ellenberger) who died suddenly September 4, 2006. He was also preceded in death by nephew Tim Davis and great nephew Cale Davis. He retired from the rigger gang at Weirton Steel Co. in 1993 and retired in 2007 from the Edison School System as a school bus driver. He attended the Richmond United Methodist Church, was a Vietnam Era US Army veteran and a member of the Richmond American Legion Post #740, the BPOElks of Weirton and was a member of the Jefferson County Fair Board. He was an accomplished cook, an avid NASCAR fan and always was helping those in need. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Stephanie (Kenneth) Porter, Richmond, Samanda (Gary) Pepperling, Columbus and Heather (Ronny) Grimes, Amsterdam, his 6 grandchildren, Angus, Ian and Ella Porter, Kendall Pepperling and Allison and Luke Grimes and a sister, Ruth Ann (Gary) Davis, Toronto. Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday with the Reverend Carol Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Union Cemetery with full military honors by the Richmond American Legion Post #740.
