Obituary

ROBERT S. McCLELLAND, 86, of Richmond, OH, passed away Monday, October 24, 2005 in the Pallative Care Unit of Trinity Medical Center East, Steubenville, following a lengthy illness. He retired from the Edison Local School District after 27 years as a custodian at the old Jefferson Union High School, Richmond and prior to that had been at the Toronto Ohio Edison Plant. He was a WW II veteran of the US Army and was a 50 year member of the Irondale Masonic Lodge F & AM, Jenkins Lodge #471 and a 32 degree Mason. He was a Presbyterian by faith. Bob was born May 31, 1919 in Knoxville, OH. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Beula (Smith) McClelland, by 2 sons, Dennis G. who was killed in action in Vietam, June 29, 1969 and R. Gary who died May 29, 1983 and by 2 sisters, Bea Lippert and Mary Ann VonSchriltz. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Esther G. (Martin) McClelland, by 2 daughters, Sherry (Dennis) Hoobler and Pam (Mike) Mettenberger, both of Richmond; one sister, Betty Carlisle, San Leandro, CA,; grandchildren, Craig Hoobler and Troylynn Boggs, Brenda Scott, Todd McClelland, Jeff and Lee Mettenberger and 7 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Richmond Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday with Bob's grandson, Craig Hoobler, officiating. Burial will follow in the Knoxville Cemetery. Masonic services will be held at 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online at www.everhartfuneralhomes.com.
