Obituary

Robert B. Sharp, 76, of Richmond, OH, passed away Thursday at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville. He was a retired Control Room Operator at the Ohio Edison Sammis Plant. Robert was a veteran of the US Army and served in France during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Richmond United Presbyterian Church where he had served as an elder and session. Robert was also a 50 year member of the Masonic Order, Jenkins Lodge #471 Irondale. Robert was born on December 9, 1929 in Irondale, Ohio, a son of the late Frederick Sharp and Sarah Ethel (Wilson) Sharp. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Mark Adam Moore and an infant grandson Steven Robert Moore; one brother, Charles Sharp and one sister, Mary Dunn. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Edna (Hawkins) Sharp; two daughters and son-in-laws, Mary Ann (Steve) Moore of Richmond, OH and Leslie (Greg) Smith of Jewett, OH; two grandsons, Rob Moore of Pittsburgh, PA and Stevie Moore of Bloomingdale, OH. Robert was dearly loved by his family. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and devoted his life to his children and grandchildren. For many years Robert enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports. He also had a deep love for animals and really enjoyed caring for horses and dogs. Friends may call at the Richmond United Presbyterian Church 310 East Main St., Richmond on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Services will be held 1 PM Monday at the church with Pastor John Hearn officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Union Cemetery.
