ROBERT "Slim" SHRIGLEY, 97 of Hammondsville, OH, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2007 in Schoenbrunn Health Care, New Philadelphia, OH following a lengthy illness. He owned and operated the Buckeye Coal Company of Hammondsville until 1958 and was a general contractor and black angus farmer. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps in WWII and a head elder at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Carrollton.
He was born April 6, 1909 in Louisville, KY, a son of the late James Jr. and Lyda Rothrock Shrigley. He was married May 25, 1940 to Elizabeth (Moore) who died May 29, 1998.
Funeral services for Slim will be at 3:30 PM Friday, Janurary 5, 2007 at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz. Burial will follow in the Mooretown Cemetery.
