Obituary

RONALD D. BAKER, 64, of Amsterdam, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 in Valley Hospice North, Steubenville. He was born in Steubenville, August 3, 1946, a son of the late Clayton and Mae (Webb) Baker. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1967 as a recipient of the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14) and was a member of the Amsterdam VFW #232. He first worked for the Y & O Coal Company of Hopedale then the American Steel Foundries of Alliance. He is survived by his wife, Diana (Hoobler) Baker, a son, Mike (Jeanne) Baker of Amsterdam and a daughter, Bobbi Jo (Mike) Hill of Gahanna, OH, step-children, Carrie Maxwell (Rick Deitch), Wintersville, Craig (Sharon) Maxwell and Toni Dean (Kevin Grimes), both of Amsterdam, seven grandchildren, Cara Maxwell, Ryan and Claire Hill, MacKenzie Baker, Zane Dean, Summer Murdock and Meghan Maxwell and two brothers, Tony (Donna) Baker and Terry (Mary) Baker, both of Amsterdam. Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz, Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday with Pastor Bob Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Bergholz Cemetery with full military honors by the VFW Post #232. Condolences may be sent online at www.everhart-bovefuneralhomes.com.
