Ronald E. Downen, 76, of Bloomingdale, OH, passed away August 5, 2014 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.

He was born February 27, 1938 in Canonsburg, PA a son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Byers) Downen.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Deanna G. (Devore) who passed away November 16, 2008 and whom he married on June 7, 1958; sister, Deborah "Debbie" Downen; and brother-in-law, Robert Shook.

Ronald was Methodist by faith. He retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation where he worked as a bridge inspector. Ronald enjoyed being a member of Car Club.

He is survived by his daughters, Candy (Ed) Millhorn of Steubenville, OH and Melody Downen of Bloomingdale, OH; brother, Rick (Anna) Downen of Toronto, OH; and sister, Sandra "Sandy" Shook of Wintersville.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Richmond on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 12 noon until time of funeral services at 2 PM with Pastor Mike Thurston officiating.

Burial will follow at Quaker Cemetery, Richmond.
