Ronald Lee Nelson 74, of Richmond, Ohio left this world on October 18, 2021 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born July 26, 1947 in Bend, Oregon a son of the late Lawrence and Emma (Bogestad) Nelson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary and Neil Nelson; and sister, Lorraine Pryor.

Ron served in the Civil Air Patrol and the U. S. Air Force. He was a retiree of  Weirton Steel. Ron helped at the Richmond Vol. Fire Dept., was a former equipment manager for the Edison Wildcats and other numerous volunteer activities for the local community.

He is survived by his wife, Leona (Fluharty) Nelson; children, Emily (James) Vandyke, Scott (Jessica) Nelson, Adam (Tracy Vandine-Workman) Nelson, Jason (Angela) Nelson, and Rhonda (Sean Wildes) Nelson; mother-in-law, Dorothy Fluharty; brothers, Dwaine (Sandy) Nelson, Glenn (Boni) Nelson, and Jimmy Nelson; 13 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Friday from 4-6 PM. Funeral service at 6 PM with Pastor Larry Garrison officiating.
