Ross E. "Bud" Barrett Jr., 76 of Wintersville passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville. He was born May 21, 1933 in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late Ross Barrett, Sr. and Nan Thorn Cadman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Saundra K. Barrett, whom passed on November 14, 2009, and a sister Carolee Stacy. Ross was a Veteran of the US Navy serving in Guam and was retired from Wheeling-Pitt Steel where he worked for 43 years. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Lovers Lane, where he sang in the choir. He also sang for the Weirton Steel Community Choir and St. Paul Choir. Ross was an avid Steeler, Penguins, and Indian Creek Redskins fan. Ross is survived by a son, Bruce (Susan) Barrett of Wintersville; two grandsons, Ryan and Bryce Barrett; a brother, Bob (Marijean) Barrett of Steubenville; brother-in-law, Dave Stacy of Steubenville; two sisters, Beverly (Chuck) Norman of Columbiana and Marcia (Ted) Turk of New Castle, PA; three half- sisters, Flora VerStratten of Richmond, Marianna Kerr and Catherine (Everett) Dillon, 21 nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Everhart-Bove, 685 Canton Rd, Wintersville on Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 1-3 and 6-8 PM.
