Ruth Ethel Smuck, 94 of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020.

She was born December 3, 1925 in Chester, West Virginia a daughter of the late Patrick "Patty" and Edith ( Berry )  Burns. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Smuck; five brothers, Raymond, Bill, John, Bob, and Norman Burns; sister, Violet Stull.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Edith (Terry) Kettlewell and son Dave (Fatima) Smuck; grandchildren, Melissa (James) Fitch, Dr. Erika (Dr. Richard) Carney, Dr. David Smuck, Dr.Erin (Dr.Adam) Branvold; great-grandchildren, Mike (Michelle) Wood, Matt (Kristen) Wood, Johnny (Devyn) Wood, Julia Carney, Jacob Carney, Liam Wells, Fiona Wells; 3 great-great grandchildren.

She and Harold enjoyed their family gatherings, traveling, golfing, and following all sports of their grandchildren and enjoyed talking with their neighbors.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Saturday from 2-3 PM. Funeral services will follow at 3 PM with Pastor Bill Westling officiating.
