Samuel Earl Brown Jr., 89, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away on September 29, 2024. He was born on October 19, 1934, in Cowansville, Pennsylvania, to the late Earl and Gladys (Hollabaugh) Brown. In addition to his parents, Samuel is preceded in death by his loving wife, Delores (Black) Brown; his daughter, Erin Beth Brown; and his brother, Walter Brown.
Samuel served during the Korean War in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a faithful member of the Bell Chapel United Methodist Church, The Masonic Lodge in Toronto 583, the Toronto American Legion Post 86, the Steubenville Beagle Club, and the Coraopolis Beagle Club in PA. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids, they were the light of his life.
He is survived by his daughters, Noreen Tressler, Lori (Kevin) Caris, and Becky (Steve) Miller; his son, Sam (Gena) Brown; his brother, Paul (Harriet) Brown; his sisters; Mary Jane (Dale) Fox, Maude Minarcin, and Delores (Harry) Weimer; his 9 grandchildren; and his 11 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received for visitation at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd, Wintersville, Ohio, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. Masonic services will begin at 7:30 P.M. A funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Bell Chapel United Methodist Church, 3419 St. Rte. 213, Steubenville, Ohio, at 11 A.M. with Pastor Seth Filburn officiating. Burial and military honors will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
