Sandra Sue (Smith) Frye, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 86. Devoted to her husband of 67 years, Edwin Frye, Sue was the heart of her family. Together they raised three children- Cindy (Ken Orangeo), Gary Frye, and Craig (Jemi) Frye- and were blessed with four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, all of whom cherished her deeply. Sue was born July 11, 1938 in Bluefield, VA, a daughter of the late Jesse and Thelma Smith. She was a member of the Richmond Methodist Church.

Gifted with a sharp mind and a sweet southern accent, Sue was a masterful storyteller, effortlessly recalling cherished memories that brought laughter and warmth to every gathering. Whether reading a book or playing Scrabble and Upwords, she dazzled everyone with her impressive vocabulary and sharp memory. Her warmth extended to the kitchen, where she created unforgettable meals, especially during the holidays, bringing loved ones together with her incredible breakfasts and dinners.

A devoted Christian and faithful methodist, Sue was very active in the church , embodying her deep faith and commitment to her community. She adored her pets, from her cherished cats to her more recent canine companions, finding joy in their presence.

Sue's extraordinary love, kindness and devotion to her family made her a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her legacy of love and laughter will be carried on by all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
