Sarah (Sally) Wood Tantlinger of Wintersville, OH, died at University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH, on Dec. 13, 2017.

Born in Richmond, OH, she was the daughter of the late Evan and Ada Huscroft Wood.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David R. Tantlinger, SR.
She was a graduate of Jefferson Union High School in Richmond, OH, and the Ohio Valley School of Nursing, Steubenville, OH.

She worked as an R.N. at the Ohio Valley Hospital, Steubenville, OH; the Gibson Memorial Hospital, Enterprise, AL; St. John Hospital; and the Trinity Medical Center, Steubenville, OH, where she retired after 38 years of service.

She was a member of the Christian Church of Unionport, OH, where she taught Sunday School classes and worked on many ministries.

She was a member of the American and Ohio Industrial Nurses Association and the Unionport Eastern Star, of which she was a 50-plus year member.

She is survived by her son, David R. Tantlinger, JR. of Solon, OH; two daughters, Kathy Jo Lynch of Zelienople, PA, and Ruth Ann Saunders with her husband, Greg, of Bloomingdale, OH; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, William (Herk) Wood of Amsterdam, OH; and two sisters, Ada Brimlow of Stow, OH, and Barbara Jeanne Long from Conway, SC.

Calling hours are at Everhart Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville, OH, from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, and again from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. and entombment will follow at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.

A luncheon will follow at the Christian Church of Unionport.
