Shirley J. Dayton, 76, of Smithfield, OH passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Acuity Specialty Hospital, Steubenville.

She was born June 28, 1937 in Steubenville, OH a daughter of the late Frank Parrish and Priscilla (Rickus) McCain.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by sister, Donna Mossor.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jewell D. Dayton; sons, Ron (Rena) Dayton of Steubenville, Brian (Judy) Dayton of Mingo Jct., and Kevin (Patty) Dayton of Florida; daughter, Sheryl (Gary) Butto of Wintersville; brothers, Terry (Anna) Kelly of Richfield, Randy (Diana) McCain, Bruce McCain of Canton; sisters, Sandy Lachette of Dover and Brenda McCain of Adena; brother-in-law, Kenny Mossor of Toronto; grandchildren, Angela (Bill), Nichole, Kim (Doug), Ron (Dawnel), Brian, Joseph (Tara), Katie, Stephen, Matthew, Dustin (Christina), and Adam (Alejanera); and great grandchildren, Zachery, Austin, Shayla, Haley, Anna, Riley, Cory, Austin, Zoey, and Luke.

Shirley was a loving and devoted mom and grandma.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 AM with Pastor Jeff Greco officiating.

Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates.
