Sylvia E. DeVore, 86 of Mingo Jct., Ohio passed away Sunday, January 09, 2011 at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville.

She was born May 6, 1924 in Beech Bottom, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Andrew and Meri Arsu Spon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John "Jack" DeVore, a son Thomas O. "Todd" DeVore, whom passed on December 19, 2010, two brothers Andy and George Spon, sister Mary Cuthbert.

She was a loving Mother to her family and was Presbyterian by faith.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Tammy Casto and husband Brian of Steubenville, granddaughter Tiffany Weaver and husband Jon of Oakdale, PA, grandson Tyler Casto of Steubenville, brother Judge John Spon, Sr. and wife Dorothy of Steubenville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Tuesday from 5-8 PM. Funeral services at the funeral home Wednesday at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Steubenville. Send condolences online at www.everhart-bovefuneralhomes.com.
