Velma E. McFarland, 92, of Wintersville, OH passed away August 22, 2013 at Sienna Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Wintersville.

She was born February 7, 1921 in Dillonvale, OH a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Martinek) Peshek.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William J. McFarland; step daughter, Beverly Smythe; brother, Norton Peshek; and sister, Evelyn Azallion.

Velma was Presbyterian by faith. She enjoyed playing bingo. Velma was a secretary at Dillonvale Co-op. She worked for the CAC Senior Companion Program.

She is survived by her son, Craig (Carolyn) McFarland of Wintersville; step sons, William McFarland of Charleston, SC and Stanley McFarland of Hartville, OH; step daughter, Patricia Jean Gampolo of West Palm Beach, FL; and step grandchild, Alex Hanlin of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and many other step grandchildren.

Private services will take place at the convenience of the family.
