Vernajean Newburn, 94, of Greenwood, IN, formerly of East Springfield, Ohio, passed away June 7, 2019 at St. Otterbein Franklin Senior Life.

She was born April 13, 1925 in East Liverpool, OH, a daughter of the late Cecil and Birdella (Long) Swearingen.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Dwight Newburn; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.

Vernajean was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in East Springfield, OH.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Jane) Newburn and Jesse (Judy) Newburn; sister, Norma Davis; 6 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Richmond on Thursday from 11 AM until time of funeral services at 1 PM.

Burial will follow at East Springfield Cemetery.
