Vernon L. Kemmer, 89, of Bergholz , OH , passed away May 20, 2015 at his home.

He was born February 24, 1926 in Bergholz , OH , a son of the late J. William and Ethel M. (Jones) Kemmer.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his two daughters, Bonnie Lou Raber and Renee Kemmer; brothers, Raymond, John, and Harold; and sisters, Margaret, Alta, Pat, and Helen.

Vernon served his country in the United States Army during WWII.

He was a coal miner and retired from DeNoon Lumber. Vernon was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.

Vernon is survived by his wife, May (Whetzel) Kemmer of Bergholz; son, Mark L. Kemmer, Sr. of Bergholz; grandson, Mark L. Kemmer, Jr. of Canton; and brother, Kenneth Kemmer of Toronto, OH.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 285 Second St. , Bergholz on Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dave Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at Bergholz Cemetery .
