Violet M. Nelson, 92, formerly of Steubenville, passed away on Nov 26, 2014 at home in Pataskala, Ohio where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law.

Violet was born November 1, 1922, the daughter of the late Cecil and Birdella (Long) Swearingen.

In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by an infant daughter; husband, William H. Nelson; brothers: Donald, Paul and William Swearingen; sisters: Ruth Burchfield and  Mary Ann Morrison.

Violet was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, the Steubenville Women's Club and the Steubenville Ladies Shrine Club.  She also enjoyed attending the Ninth Infantry Division Association reunions with her late husband.  Violet was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was well known for her pies and needlework.  She loved to read and had a wide circle of friends.

Violet is survived by her daughter Sharon and son-in-law Albert DuBois of Pataskala, Ohio; grandson William (Stephanie) DuBois and three great grandchildren: Lydia, Mason and William Edwin (Win) DuBois; two sisters: Norma (Willard) Davis and Verna Jean Newborn; sister-in-law, Zeina Mae Nelson; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Winterville, Ohio on Saturday from 10 AM until time of funeral services at 2 PM with Pastor Sam Davis officiating.
