Virginia M. Tomaszewski, 85, of Richmond, OH passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Dixon Health Care Center, Wintersville following a lengthy illness. She was a homemaker and Methodist by faith. She was also a member of Richmond American Legion Post # 740 and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Virginia was born January 27, 1921 in Bradley, Ohio, a daughter of the late Pearl H. and Mildred Riley Harkins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Tomaszewski on February 16, 2001, an infant daughter Priscilla Tomaszewski and two brothers Earl and Arthur Harkins.
Virginia is survived by two daughters Tyra (Calvin) Pethtel, Jr. of Bloomingdale, OH and Mildred (Vincent) Morelli of Wintersville, OH. Three brothers, Howard (Louise) Harkins of Jewett, OH, Dave (Flora) Harkins of Rayland, OH, and Fred ( Thresa) Harkins. Five sisters, Thelma Neely, Shirley Fabry, Pearl Fellows, and Eileen (Charles) Young all of Smithfield, OH, and Mildred (Vincent) Morelli of Wintersville. Five grandchildren, Charles (Christine) Pethtel, Shannon (Brian) McClure, Jason (Julie) Pethtel, Valerie (Ed) Cooley, and Stephanie (Paul) Voight. Nine great-grandchildren, Austin, Alexis, and Nikolas McClure, Alexis and Allison Pethtel, Matthew and Jarett Pethtel, Paul and Samantha Cooley.
