Wesley D. Brooks, 85, of Steubenville, OH, passed away October 31, 2014 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH.
He was born April 2, 1929 in East Steubenville, WV, a son of the late Owen S. Sr. and Adda E. (Call) Brooks.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Alice O. "Dutch" (Long) Brooks; daughter, Laura Ann Brook; great grandson, Samson; brothers, Owen S. Brooks, Jr. and Howard Brooks.
Wesley served his country in the United States Navy during WWII.
He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel where he worked as a boiler operator.
Wesley attended the Weems Chapel, Smithfield, OH. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his significant other, Lanni (Curtiss); daughter, Joyce A. (Michael Boehke) Brooks; sons, David (Edna) Brooks, Richard L. (Pamela) Brooks, and Patrick Brooks; 3 step children; sister, Gertrude (Clarence) Morris; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Carpenter and Barbara Brooks; and blessed with many many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville and on Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM with Brother Shaun Ford officiating.
Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery, Rayland, OH with full Military Honors.
