William "Bill" C. Kumbera, Sr., 90, of Steubenville, OH, passed away February 19, 2014 at Wyngate Senior Living Community, Weirton.

He was born April 7, 1923 in Harperville, OH, a son of the late James and Mary (Hooker) Kumbera.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, William C. Kumbera, Jr. and siblings, Elsie Berryman, Irene Gosnell, Raymond Kumbera, Robert Kumbera, Wilma Black, Margaret Tolbert, James Kumbera, Edna Kumbera, and John Kumbera.

Bill retired from Wheeling-Pitt Steel where he worked as a locomotive engineer.

Bill was a member of Wintersville Methodist Church and lifelong member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was an avid euchre player, anytime, anyplace. He enjoyed spending his time woodworking, traveling, gardening, and many hours at his tool bench.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth E. "Betty" (Hanlin) Kumbera of Steubenville; daughter, Sandra (Frank) Villamagna, Jr. of Mingo Jct., OH; step son, John Shields of Westerville, OH; daughter-in-law, Crista Kumbera of Florida; grandchildren, Frank (Ronda) Villamagna, Stacey (Chris) Hooper, Hannah Kumbera, William Kumbera III, and Steven Kumbera; step-grandchildren, Rachel Smith, Chris, Matthew, and Shawn Novak, Beth, and Bryan Shields; and 7 great grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Friday from 4-7 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville where funeral services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Clint Quillen officiating.

Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville.
