William Reed MacGregor, 90 of Wintersville, Ohio passed away peacefully in his home Thursday, December 16, 2010.
He was born October 24, 1920 in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late William and Mabel MacGregor. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Lewis MacGregor, who died August 4, 1990; two brother, Robert and Donald MacGregor, a sister Lettia E. Height and a step grandchild.
He was a Veteran of the US Army during WWII and a member of both the Weirton VFW and Wintersville American Legion Post 557. He is also a member of Two Ridges Presbyterian Church and the Last Man's Standing Club. He retired as a railroad conductor at Weirton Steel Corp.
William is survived by Ruth Woods of Wintersville and Janet Lemasters of Toronto; daughter, Billie Ruth (Michael) Barabas of Deland, Florida; step-son Richard "Dick" (Sandy) Kidder of Toronto; five grandchildren, Lynn, Beth Ann, Noelle Whipkey-Tingler, Sandra Barabas and Michelle Barabas and seven great-grandchildren, Andrew William and Zander Dawson Tingler; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. MacGregor will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville. Visitation will be Tuesday at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. He will be laid to rest at Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville with the Ohio Valley Veterans
