William Jay Roe, 86 of Richmond, OH went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after passing away at Trinity Medical Center West, Steubenville on Thursday, March 08, 2007. Bill gave his heart to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 1, 1956at New Alexandria Methodist Church. He was a car inspector for Conrail and was a song leader for thirty years at the Bloomingdale Church of God. Bill attended the Weirton First Church of the Nazarene. Bill and his wife Betty Jane Roe would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on April 10th. Bill was born October 14, 1920 in Brilliant, Ohio, a son of the late Earvy and Marie Bucy Roe. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Paul, Merle, Leroy, Wayne, and Glen Roe. Two sisters Gertrude Vergitz and Elaine Diekmann. Bill is survived by his loving wife Betty Jane (Saik) Roe, whom he married on April 10, 1942. A son Reverend Billy J. (Leanna) Roe of Moundsville, WV. A daughter Marie (Davis) Barnhouse of Richmond, OH. Seven grandchildren, Brent( Kym) Barnhouse, Kim( Ty) Fonow, Reverend Brock ( Stephanie) Barnhouse, Jami ( Darrin) Gray, Reverend Matt ( Lori) Roe, Jason (Lana) Roe, Megan (Marc) Quigley. Fourteen great-grandchildren. A brother, Reverend Earvy "Doc" Roe of Mingo Jct. Five sisters, Owney Roe of Smithfield, OH, Patricia Beckett of Hopedale, OH, Polly Verhovic, Lenora Starcher, and Thelma Morgan all of Mingo Jct., OH. Friends may call at the Weirton First Church of the Nazarene, 475 Colliers Way, Weirton, WV on Sunday March 11, 2007 from 2-5 and 7-9 PM and on Monday from 10 AM until time of sevices at 11 AM with Reverends Dana Snodgrass, Vaughn Davis, Brock Barnhouse, Matt Roe, and Brad Reynolds officiating.
