Alfred Pickering 82 of Wintersville, Ohio passed away Monday March 21, 2011 at his home.

Alfred was born December 25, 1928 in Akron, Ohio, a son of the late Virgil and Sara Marie Lambert Pickering. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Mary.

He was a Veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict, was retired from Operating Engineers Local 18, and was a member of the Unionport Masonic Lodge F&AM #333.

Alfred is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eunice Lucas Pickering; three daughters, Teresa (Bob) Mismas of Lorain, Ohio, Nancy (Lou) Caplick and Shirley Roberts both of Garfield Heights, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Amy Burke, Maegan Mismas, Sarah Mismas, Chris Caplick, Brandon MacDowell, John Lally, Dawn Lally, and Mackenzie Roberts; eight great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Family burial services will take place in Bellville, WV. Send condolences online at www.everhart-bovefuneralhomes.com .
