Audrey R. Tranter

Audrey R. Tranter, 90, of Steubenville, Ohio gained her eternal reward into heaven on February 2, 2023. She was born July 6, 1932 in Powhatan Point, Ohio a daughter of the late Lawrence and Eleanor (Kirby) Palmer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Eartist Flener, Broda Flener, and Cheryl Riffle; brothers, Lawrence “Sonny” Palmer and Glenn Palmer.

Audrey was an evangelist and pastor for many years including co-pastor with her husband, Herman at Faith Chapel in Steubenville. She was a Christian since she was six years old and was proud of her service in the Civil Defense. Audrey loved listening to and singing Christian Music and playing the twelve-string guitar.

She is survived by her husband, Herman Tranter; children, Eartie Flener, Roger Flener, Claude Tranter, Beverly (John) Wineman, Claudia Arnette, Charlotte Bowers, Colleen Tranter; sisters Jessie Flener and Nada Cade; brother, Darl (Becky) Palmer; 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Homes, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Monday from 1 PM until time of funeral services at 2 PM with Pastor Guy Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at Center Chapel cemetery.
