Eric W. Dye

Eric W. Dye, 61, of Hutchison Island, FL, formerly of Richmond, OH, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019 from cancer.

He was born April 12, 1958 in Steubenville, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warner and Lois Dye, his grandparents, Clyde and Bertha Dye and Leonard and Margaret Kemp, and his brother, Bruce Dye.

Eric was a member of the Richmond Methodist Church. He graduated from Jefferson Union H.S., class of 1976. Eric loved traveling and being with his grandparents, Clyde and Bertha Dye. At 13 years old Eric started in the auto business; managing a dealership, selling cars, buying cars at auctions all over the Eastern United States, and detailing them, primarily for his close friends and business associates, Willard and Norma Davis. Eric said he didn’t know why he loved cars but he had since he was a child. When he moved to FL he said he lived in paradise and that he had a good life. Eric was a devoted brother.

Eric is survived by brother, Lenny Dye of Wintersville, OH; sisters, Debbie Campana and husband Joe of Wintersville, OH, Maylee Dye of Amissville, VA, and Heather Dye of Wheeling, WV. His aunt Jackie Haynes of Steubenville, OH. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were all special to him. Eric made friends everywhere he went from here to Florida and all over the country. He loved having fun and telling jokes.

His wishes were to be cremated and spread in the ocean.

A memorial service will be held at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Richmond on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Jason Elliott officiating.
