Etta Florence Cunningham, 76, of Richmond, passed away March 8 at
Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville after suffering a heart
attack.
She was born March 17, 1943 in Steubenville. She was a 1961 graduate
of Jefferson Union High School and received her nursing training from
the Ohio Valley School of Nursing. She enjoyed her career as a nurse,
caring for others in Florida, California and at Ohio Valley and
Trinity hospitals. She was a member of Richmond United Presbyterian
Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Nettie (Watt) Ferguson.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert N. Cunningham; her
loving sons, Robert B. Cunningham (Meghan) of Sylvania, Ohio, and Eric
Cunningham of Richmond; and adored grandchildren, Eleanor and Owen.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, quilting,
traveling, reading, playing cards, being active in her church and
rooting for the Pirates, Steelers, Duke basketball and her sons’
sports teams through the years.
Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton
Rd., Wintersville, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 Wednesday, March 11.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at
