Jean Maxine (Myers) Higgins
Jean was born at home on June 14, 1935, on Boggs Run Road in Benwood, West Virginia to the late Helen B. (Crow) Myers and William A. Myers. Jean graduated from Union High School in Benwood and was a homemaker. Jean was a member of the LaBelle View Church of Christ and a resident at Lancia's Villa Royale.
In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband, William A. Higgins Sr.; her twin daughters, JoAnn and JoyAnn Higgins; her son, Ronald Paul Higgins; honorary granddaughter, Anna Leigh Cook; and her brothers; Paul and Robert Myers.
Surviving are her two sons, James W. Higgins and William A. (Tina) Higgins Jr.; Daughter-in-law, Sharon Higgins; grandsons, Joshua, Andrew, Nicholas (Maria) and Zachary (Allie) Higgins; sister-in-laws, Audrey Myers and Ardeth Higgins; and good friend of the family, H. Lee Kinney.
Jean loved going on vacation, enjoyed eating out, word circle books, watching tv, bingo and getting her hair done. Jean's greatest love was her grandchildren and her family. She loved when they would come for a visit. Jean had a special bond with her daughter-in-law Tina. From the moment they met, they were best friends and the "Thelma and Louise" of the family!
The Bove Funeral Home will oversee the arrangements, and you may leave condolences on their website. Per the family request, there will be no service. A private burial is planned. A gathering in Jean's honor will take place TBA.
The family would like to thank Lancia's and Hospice for their kindness. We would also like to thank our beloved brother Ron who ensured our mother's needs were taken care of.
