John Isaac Dunkle

12-3-49 to 1-6-21

Born in Bergholz OH to Joseph and Ruth (Beadnell) Dunkle passed away unexpectedly at his home following a brief illness. He was transported to Trinity Medical Center West where he was pronounced. John enjoyed spending time with his family, helping at the local food pantry, and working the kitchen at the Bergholz Fire Departments kids dances. He was also an avid hunter of shark’s teeth at the beach. John worked for Summitville Tile, Jensy Mine, and retired from ODOT. During his retirement he enjoyed being a supervisor for Starlake Amphitheater.

He is proceeded in death by his father and mother, his half-sister, Jean Whitman, half-brother, Bill Grubbs, and brother in-law, Lester McCourt

John survived by his wife of 50 years Mary (McCourt) Dunkle, sons, John and Brook Dunkle of Bergholz, Joseph (Bill) and Dina (Grace) Dunkle of Chester, WV. 10 Grand children, Abigale, Devon, Ian, Erik, Trevor, Theodore, Jaydin, Bentley (AKA Squirrel), John Earl (AKA Buggy), and Brystol (AKA Trixie). 5 Great grandchildren. A brother, James and Barb Dunkle of Mechanicstown, and brother Joseph and Peggy Beadnell of Bergholz. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Special Friends of the family Tiffany Dunkle of Bergholz, and Ginger Ogle of Bergholz.

Upon family requests there will be no funeral services.

There will be a memorial dinner on January 24th, 2021 at the East Springfield Fire Department Social Hall at 2pm- 5pm. COVID regulations will be in place. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made to the East Springfield Vol. Fire Department. P.O. Box 146 East Springfield, OH 43925
