Larry D. Mercer, 73, of Bloomingdale, OH, passed away suddenly on December 2, 2019 at his home.
He was born in the farmhouse on February 13, 1946 in Bloomingdale, OH, a son of the late Eric Lowell and Martha Pauline (Cline) Mercer.
Larry was a lifelong dairy farmer for Mercer Farms that is a recognized Ohio Century Farm. He was a member of the Cattlemen’s Association, Farm Bureau, Soil and Water Board, and on the Jefferson County Fair Board for over 18 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 short years, Carolyn L. (Corder) Mercer; children, Kim (Kevin) Robinson, Shelley (Edward) Vahalik, Jody (Henry Carter Mercer, and Bud (Terri Andrews) Mercer; grandchildren, Gage and Shelby, C. J. and Eric Robinson, Makenna and Makenzie Carter, Rylee Mercer, Harley and Hunter Rothacker; siblings, Eddie (Gloria) Mercer, Carol Ann (Jack) Browning, and Shirley (Bill) Fithen; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 3-5 pm and again on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 AM with Reverend Arthur Wells and Pastor John Oliver officiating.
Burial will follow at Unionport Cemetery.
