Randall "Randy" Howard Proffitt

Randall “Randy” Howard Proffitt, 52, of Richmond, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2023. He was born on September 11, 1971, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, at Seymour Johnson Hospital. The son of Ralph and Joyce (Hout) Proffitt. Randy is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ralph and Imogene Proffitt; his maternal grandfather, Howard D. Hout; and his uncle, Ronald “Ronnie” Hout. 

Randy spent 15 years in the Air Force before retiring as Master Sergeant from the 911th Air Wing in Pittsburgh, PA. He served in many bases here and abroad. He was an avid golfer and was a gun enthusiast. He had a passion for planes, being outdoors, and for life itself. He was also a member at Richmond Methodist Church and Richmond American Legion Post #740 Honored 7 FOP Lodge 97. 

In addition to his parents, Randy is survived by his son, Justin Walker; his maternal grandmother, Betty Hout; his brother, Jack (Marian) Proffitt; his sister, Stacey (Rick) Snyder; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. 

Family wanted to extend a special thanks to Dr. Mohammed Rahman & staff at Teramana Cancer Center, Valley Hospice, and Trinity Home Health Care for their hospitality. 

Friends will be received for visitation at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville, Ohio, 43953, on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM the following day, Tuesday, October 10, 2023, with a visitation hour prior starting at 10 A.M. Rev. Thomas Scott will be officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Union Cemetery with military honors.
