Ray Orwick

Raymond Clyde Orwick born June 17, 1935 died September 11, 2019.  

Ray loved being with friends and family, and had friends of all ages.  

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Violet Orwick, sister Marlene Orwick, daughter Jodi Bianchini.  

He is survived by wife, Vivian; son, Steve and daughter-in-law, Karen Orwick; son-in-law, John Bianchini; grandchildren, Josh (Amie) Orwick, Haley (Jeff) Kreider, Shane Bianchini, Austin Bianchini; great grandchildren, Grayson Hildebrandt and Layna Orwick, and foster great grandchildren, Amy and Mikey. 

Ray was a long-time member of Mingo Sportman’s Club and GKL; he enjoyed some of his favorite hobbies there including fishing, bird hunting, camping, shooting, and hanging out with the guys. 

Ray loved spending time with his poodles, Dino, Brandi, Shasta, and Moppy. He would take his dogs everywhere, including in his coat pocket! His pups were some of his best friends. 

He enjoyed watching Nascar and spending time in the infield on his Harley Davidson golf cart, that he custom built for the races. 

Ray was a carpenter by trader and served 54 years for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local 186. 

He enjoyed reminiscing about all of the structures he built in Jefferson County and surrounding areas. One project, he volunteered a lot of time with the Wintersville Boosters, was helping to build the Wintersville High School home bleachers and press-box. 

Ray’s proudest accomplishments were his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved taking them camping, fishing, and supporting them in all of their sporting events and activities whenever possible. 

Friends will be received at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 685 Canton Rd., Wintersville on Saturday from 3 PM until time of funeral services at 5 PM with Pastor Carl Moore officiating. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Hopedale United Methodist Church or Valley Hospice.
