Ronald L. Huggins, Sr., 75, of Amsterdam, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019 in Carrollton, OH.
Ronald was the youngest of three children born to the late Raymond and Edna Tarr Huggins.
Ronnie, as everyone called him, loved the outdoors. In the summertime he could always be found working in the garden, mowing the grass or cutting wood. If there was nothing that he needed to get done, he could be found sitting on the front porch enjoying the view. He was an avid hunter and he enjoyed refurbishing antique tractors.
Ronnie retired from Weirton Steel where he worked as a crane operator.
He was a member of Toronto Lodge F&AM #45 and he attended the Richmond United Methodist Church.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, a brother James Huggins and his wife Sharon Nicholson Huggins.
The past fifteen years Ronnie has shared his life with Hope Eimer of Amsterdam who survives along with his sons Ronald L. “Chip” (Amanda) Huggins, Jr., and Randy (Melissa) Huggins of Amsterdam; four, grandsons, Dustin (Alexis) Huggins of Richmond, Hunter Huggins, serving in the U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Sill, OK and Alex and Jackson Huggins of Columbus; one sister, Edna Woodward of Richmond; and sister-in-law, Freda Huggins of Grove City.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Everhart-Bove Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St., Richmond where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM with Pastor Byron Bufkin officiating.
Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Steubenville.
