Thomas “Tom” Bowman passed away peacefully in his home in Lisbon, Ohio on May 5, 2022 at the age of 92 after a very short illness.
Tom was born in Toronto, Ohio on August 8, 1929 and graduated from Wintersville High School. Tom earned his B.S. degree in Accounting in 1971 by attending night school while raising his family and working construction during the day. He retired after 22 years as the Controller for Chester Hoist in Lisbon. He focused his life on his family and church. He was a member, as well as the treasurer, of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church for over 30 years. He was eternally selfless and was always a loving provider for his family. He prioritized helping others, and enjoyed reading and attending softball games. Tom was still active at the gym and was mowing his own lawn until shortly before his illness.
Tom is survived by his son Todd Bowman, his daughter-in-law Lynn Graper Bowman, his loving granddaughters Sarah Bowman and Emily Bowman, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He is proceeded in death by his beloved wife Shirley Mae (Eddy) Bowman, whom he lovingly cared for in their home for over 10 years while she battled ALS, as well as his beloved daughter Faith Bowman Anchors, his father Thomas Sr., his mother Goldie, and Sister Beverly.
A short graveside service will be held on Monday May 9, 10:00 AM at the chapel at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, 801 Canton Rd., Wintersville, OH 43953.
